What is this survey about?
With this survey we would like to learn more about your attitude towards gene editing: in particular, it is of interest whether and under which circumstances you would support the possible availability of gene editing in Switzerland. What are your concerns and expectations about this?
The survey does not aim to test knowledge on the topic of genetics/gene editing, but to gather different opinions and views. There are also no "right" or "wrong" answers in this process and the research team does not support any specific results.
Who is conducting this survey?
This survey is conducted by the Health Ethics and Policy Lab of ETH Zurich under the direction of Prof. Effy Vayena and Kelly Ormond.
You can find out more information about the research team and the types of research that they do here and about gene editing research specifically at (https://bioethics.ethz.ch/research/GeneEditingEthic.html)
Where did the project team get your address?
Your address was drawn at random from the sample register of the Federal Statistical Office FSO. The legal basis is Article 13c paragraph 2 of the Ordinance on the Collection of Statistics (SR 431.01).
Are names and address data passed on to third parties?
No, your address data will not be passed on to third parties under any circumstances. In addition, your contact data (name and address) will be stored separately from your answers on servers at ETH Zurich.
Is it possible to opt out of the survey?
The survey is voluntary and you have the right to opt out at any time. This can be done without giving any reason and without any consequences. In order not to be contacted any further, we kindly ask you to unsubscribe by e-mail or by phone: +41 44 505 15 50.
